What Is It?
The HCN 0218 Utility Pole Grapple is a municipal & road maintenance designed for installation on Skid Steer Loaders. It is manufactured at HCN Attachments' ISO 9001:2015-certified facility in Xuzhou, China, and supplied to contractors, rental fleets, OEM partners, and equipment distributors in more than 60 countries. When sourcing cold planer attachment, road milling machine, asphalt milling attachment, pavement scarifier, hydraulic trencher, road maintenance attachment, municipal attachment for export or fleet replacement, verify carrier weight class, hydraulic output, and mounting interface before order confirmation — HCN provides free compatibility checks on request.
HCN municipal and road maintenance attachments — hydraulic cold planers, road milling heads, asphalt patch cutters, scarifiers, sidewalk saws, and utility trenchers — equip municipal carriers, skid steers, and wheel loaders for professional pavement rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance operations.
Available model designations: 021812. Specification values in the table below apply to the listed model range. If your carrier falls outside the published weight class, contact HCN engineering with the machine make, model, operating weight, and pin-to-pin dimensions — custom bracket fabrication is typically available within 15–30 working days.
HCN 0218 Utility Pole Grapple units leave factory with CE conformity documentation, operator manual, and QC records. Standard in-stock configurations ship within 7–15 working days; custom specifications require 15–30 working days. Export terms are quoted FOB Qingdao or Shanghai unless otherwise agreed. Submit an RFQ with your machine model, working conditions, and destination country for pricing, lead time, and bracket fit confirmation.

Applications
The 0218 Utility Pole Grapple is specified on the following project types. Each application below reflects real field use — not generic marketing claims.
Pothole patching and surface preparation — milling damaged asphalt
On this type of project, the 0218 Utility Pole Grapple reduces cycle time compared with manual methods by allowing the operator to work from the carrier cab. Pothole patching and surface preparation — milling damaged asphalt before hot-mix or cold-patch repair
Full-lane and half-lane road surface milling
On this type of project, the 0218 Utility Pole Grapple reduces cycle time compared with manual methods by allowing the operator to work from the carrier cab. Full-lane and half-lane road surface milling before asphalt resurfacing operations
Sidewalk and crosswalk surface scarifying
On this type of project, the 0218 Utility Pole Grapple reduces cycle time compared with manual methods by allowing the operator to work from the carrier cab. Sidewalk and crosswalk surface scarifying and road marking removal
Utility trench cutting
On this type of project, the 0218 Utility Pole Grapple reduces cycle time compared with manual methods by allowing the operator to work from the carrier cab. Utility trench cutting for cable, pipe, and conduit installation in road corridors
Airport apron and taxiway FOD
On this type of project, the 0218 Utility Pole Grapple reduces cycle time compared with manual methods by allowing the operator to work from the carrier cab. Airport apron and taxiway FOD (Foreign Object Debris) groove cutting and surface profiling
How to Read the Specifications
When reviewing Municipal & Road Maintenance for a purchase decision, these parameters determine whether the unit will perform on your site:
- Milling Width (mm)
- Governs the pass width per machine run. HCN cold planers range from 300 mm (patch repair and joint cutting) to 1,200 mm (full-lane milling). Wider drums increase productivity but require higher carrier hydraulic flow.
- Milling Depth (mm)
- Maximum material removal depth per pass. Standard models achieve 150 mm depth; heavy-duty models reach 250 mm. Multiple passes can achieve greater total depth.
- Drum Rotation Speed (RPM)
- Affects cut quality and chip size. Slower speeds produce coarser milling suitable for scarifying; faster speeds give finer texture for surface course removal.
- Cutting Bit Type
- Conical W6 or W1 series tungsten carbide cutting bits are used across all HCN milling drums. Industry-standard shanks allow direct replacement with OEM-equivalent bits available worldwide.
- Side-Shift Stroke (mm)
- Hydraulic side-shift allows milling flush against curbs and obstacles without repositioning the carrier. HCN offers ±150 mm side-shift on mid-range and large models.
