About HCN Hydraulic Breakers & Rock Hammers

Hydraulic breakers work by converting the carrier's hydraulic energy into high-frequency percussive impact — the steel piston strikes the tool (chisel, moil, or blunt point) hundreds of times per minute to fracture rock and concrete. HCN breakers use a nitrogen-charged membrane accumulator to recycle energy between strokes, increasing impact efficiency by 15–25% and reducing pressure spikes that would otherwise damage carrier hydraulic seals.

Choosing the right hydraulic breaker requires matching three parameters to the carrier: weight class (breaker weight = 3–7% of excavator operating weight), operating pressure (100–200 bar — must match carrier's auxiliary relief valve), and required oil flow (L/min — must be within the carrier's pump output range).
